When first applying product, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of gap filler.
If you are going to wipe off the excess gap filler with a wet finger, ensure you wet your finger with water and not saliva, as saliva contains bacteria and this will increase the chances of mould growing in your gap filler.
Allow the surfaces to skin prior to painting, which is approximately 30 minutes. Protect from rain until firmly skinned. Allow for longer skin and cure times in damp conditions.
Some water based under coats and flat paints may crack on drying. To reduce this effect, allow the product to cure for 24 hours in small gaps or 48 hours in larger gaps before painting with such paints.
For maximum durability on bare exterior surfaces, apply a coat of acrylic paint and allow to dry, before applying this gap sealant. Always paint over with a quality exterior paint.
To ensure you get a professional finish ensure you paint with a good quality paint and paint brush. Painting with a good brush ensures the finish and durability of the paint is increased. We recommend a 50mm Edger Brush, as the cut angle of the bristles takes the work out of applying paint.
Keep a pack of Selleys Sugar Soap Wipes handy to wipe up any spills and for cleaning. They are an easy and effective way to keep clean on the job.

Edgefiller
Apply TIMBERMATE with a spatula or knife using hand pressure to force into the Edge or End of the grain. For spray gun use stir 10%-15% water into TIMBERMATE fit a 2mm mozzle and set pressure to 60psi. Boards can be stacked for easy spraying. Allow to dry and sand with a fine grit paper and apply topcoat.
Woodfiller/Wood Putty
Fills cracks, knots, pin and screw holes, splits, blemishes, etc. Fill deep holes in layers allowing time for each layer to dry. Will not blind natural wood grain. Drying time is about 30 minutes. TIMBERMATE dries hard and smooth without shrinking or sinking and can be belt or drum sanded as it is not affected by heat, the hotter it gets the harder and faster it sets and that means less "Down Time."
You can speed dry TIMBERMATE by adjusting the surrounding air temperature. This can be done by using either hot air, heat lamps, or kiln ovens.TIMBERMATE can be mixed with any stains before or after the filler is dry. To match medium and darker shades mix with Natural, Pine or other light shades. Use white TIMBERMATE only for white top coats.
Grainfiller
Mix 10% to 15% water into TIMBERMATE to make a perfect Grainfiller, Sanding Sealer and Prime Coat all in one application. First sand surface and with fine grit sandpaper, then apply Grainfiller to surface with a spray gun, paint roller, hessian or a cloth rolled into a ball, rub across the grain in a circular motion finishing with the grain. Sand, once filler is dry, to perfection with either sandpaper or power sander, using a fine grit paper. Grain filer can be used in a Roller or Curtain Coater or Spray Gun using a 2mm nozzle and 60psi pressure. Can be further thinned down with water if required.
MDF
Due to the finishing system used to manufacture MDF, it is essential to seal the job with a water-based non-acrylic product before applying top coats. Therefore TIMBERMATE meets your needs.
Flooring
Preparing old floors: Scrape all dust and waste between boards and surface as well as from knot holes and nail heads, vacuum well and carry out first sanding to prepare for filling and coating. Ensure that floor is stabilised, dry and free of movement.
Application new floors and prepared old floors: Fill cracks, knot and nail holes and all blemished with a putty knife. Fill deeper holes in layers of about 6mm allowing each fill to dry. Apply TIMBERMATE to the entire floor, as a sealant, using a squeegee, trowel or paint roller. Allow to dry and sand off with a fine paper - 120 to 150 grit is recommended for best results. The floor can now be stained or varnished.
Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Is TIMBERMATE toxic, flammable or harmful?
Answer: It is advisable to carry out safe work practices, as you would when working with dust. (Use an approved dust mask and safety goggles). TIMBERMATE contains no harmful ingredients and is non-flammable.
Question: Can TIMBERMATE be used externally?
Answer: No, as TIMBERMATE® is resoluble in water it is not advisable to use it outdoors. TIMBERMATE IS RECOMMENDED FOR INTERIOR USE. For external use, we recommend Earls MulTFill, Powder Putty or Porion Flexible Filler.
Question: Can TIMBERMATE be used with stains and other finishes?
Answer: Yes, TIMBERMATE® will take all types of known stains, coatings and colourants which can be Water based, Oil based, Solvent or Spirit based and even Acid Catalysed Lacquers.
Question: Can TIMBERMATE be grainfilled?
Answer: Yes, TIMBERMATE is a non-solvent based filler and is ideal for grainfilling. Mix 10-15% hot water to thin the Timbermate, then rub over the grain or spread thinly (see below for more detailed instructions). TIMBERMATE will: *Not raise the grain *Not damage the grain TIMBERMATE is: *Easy to sand when dry *Easy to stain when dry *Heat proof so you can speed the drying time by heating with a hair dryer, heat gun, lights etc.
Question: How is the grainfiller applied?
Answer: Take some TIMBERMATE out of the tub and place it in a separate container. Add approximately 10-15% water, (1gm=1ml) and mix into a slurry like paste (like toothpaste). Use a LINT FREE CLOTH AND RUB ACROSS THE GRAIN. When grainfiller goes "whitish" and sands off easily like talc powder, it is dry. TIMBERMATE will not blind the sandpaper (ie. clog up). If sandpaper gets clogged the grainfiller is not dry. Sand off in the same direction as the grain. Stain or coat when dry.
Question: When is the stain applied?
Answer: You can stain before or after applying TIMBERMATE (see "How do I match colours").
Question: How are the colours matched?
Answer: Colour matching is easy. You can do it either of the following ways: Add your colourant to the putty and match the exact colour whilst wet. TIMBERMATE will dry lighter, but coat back to its original wet colour once coated with clear finishes. The final result is what you see (wet) is what you get. You can stain TIMBERMATE once it is dry. To test if dry, just rub sandpaper over putty. If putty clogs the sandpaper the filler is still wet. Wait for TIMBERMATE to dry and then stain.
Question: How long does TIMBERMATE take to dry?
Answer: Depending on the weather and depth of fill, TIMBERMATE will dry as follows: In hot weather, TIMBERMATE dries quicker. In cold weather, the depth of fill will determine the drying time. You can speed up the drying time by using a heat gun, hair dryer or light.
Question: What depth or width can be filled?
Answer: Do not fill holes deeper than 6-8mm at a time. TIMBERMATE dries quicker when filled in layers. Allow TIMBERMATE to dry between layers.
Question: Why is the tub hard some days and feels dry and soft on other days?
Answer: TIMBERMATE is waterbased. It contains no harmful solvents or acrylics and is, therefore, temperature sensitive. The warmer the weather or environment the softer the putty. On hot days it will start to dry in the tub if not properly sealed. Add a few drops of water to re moisten.
Question: How is TIMBERMATE softened?
Answer: Add a few drops of warm water to the top of the tub. It will soften quite quickly. If tub is frozen, thaw out by standing tub in a tub of hot water or place in a microwave for 20 seconds. TIMBERMATE is freeze thaw stable.
Question: Can TIMBERMATE be used for any other purpose other than wood repair?
Answer: TIMBERMATE does not shrink, sink, crack or fallout and can, therefore, be used on Plasterboard, Masonry, Fibreglass, Plastic and any other surface. Bearing in mind that steel must be coated with a primer to avoid rusting.
Question: Can TIMBERMATE go off or does it have a shelf life?
Answer: TIMBERMATE has an unlimited shelf life and will last indefinitely. If contents become dry merely add a few drops of water to reconstitute. DO NOT add more water than is necessary or leave excess water in the tub for a long period of time. The trapped excess water in the tub will cause the putty to become contaminated and will start to degenerate.
Question: Why are so many colours available?
Answer: We manufacture 13 colours to match almost all shades and types of timber. If you are using a clear coat you must match your putty colour. If staining, use Natural (tinting base).
Question: What is Tint Base (Natural) putty and why?
Answer: Tint Base (Natural putty) is putty in its natural state uncoloured. You may add the lightest shade of tint to change its colour.
Question: Can TIMBERMATE be used on floors?
Answer: TIMBERMATE is ideal for filling cracks, gaps, and nail holes in floors. TIMBERMATE will enhance the grain on the floor. As it does not shrink, sink, crack or fall out it is highly recommended for all floors.
Question: Can TIMBERMATE be used with French Polish and Waxes?
Answer: You can use all types of Waxes, Shellac and Oils on TIMBERMATE.
Question: How is an incorrect match or badly filled hole fixed?
Answer: Errors can be fixed with ease. If TIMBERMATE is not coated then wash out. If already coated, then break the top coat and then wash out. Refill or rematch if necessary.
Question: Is TIMBERMATE Australian owned and manufactured?
Answer: Yes. TIMBERMATE is 100% Australian owned and manufactured. An all Australian dedicated workforce does all manufacturing in our Melbourne factory.

How to use this product
Thoroughly clean and dry surface from oil, dirt and grease with Mineral Turpentine firstly and then Methylated Spirits. Allow drying completely before applying silicone. If there is old silicone which needs to be removed, we recommend using SELLEYS SILICONE REMOVER, this ingenious product makes removing old silicone easy.
Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up.
Cut the seal at the top of the cartridge and cut the nozzle at a 45° angle, to the size of the gap opening. Fit the nozzle to the top of the cartridge.
Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking gun. We recommend SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking Gun, as its new innovative pressure release design reduces the mess which results from run on and stress on your hands, which is critical if you are doing a lot of sealing.
Hold the caulking gun at a 45° angle. Press the nozzle opening against the joint, apply steady pressure to the caulking gun and extrude the silicone sealant forcing the sealant into the gap and move in a pushing motion, along the joint in one smooth action.
For a smooth finish, smooth with a finger dipped in mineral turpetine or for a professional finish use a paint scraper such as a 50mm ROTA COTA Soft Grip Scraper dipped in mineral turpetine.

Handy tips
Tips for Using a Silicone Sealant on Glass
Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up.
The depth of the sealant should be no more than 10mm in joints. To fill larger joints use a suitable backing rod (such as closed cell polyethylene foam or similar), leaving the gap depth no larger than half the width of the joint.
When first applying product, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of silicone sealant.
Remove the tape before the silicone sealant skins.
For a better finish complete painting prior to use of the sealant as it can not be painted over.
For a better finish, use a spatula dipped in mineral turpetine or detergent and water to tool off the sealant.
Work in sections that can be completed before sealant skins. Tooling off and tape removal must be completed before skinning occurs or a rough surface may result, so working in sections allows for a better finish.
Keep a pack of SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes handy to wipe up any spills and for cleaning any material off the skin before it cures. They are an easy and effective way to keep clean on the job.
Safety tips
Uncured product may irritate eyes. If in eyes, flood the eyes for at least 15 minutes and seek medical advice.
Avoid contact with skin, if contact occurs, wipe off immediately and wash with detergent. It may irritate sensitive skin.
Avoid breathing in vapours.
Ensure you use a well-ventilated area as product releases acetic acid while curing.

Storage and re-use
Store in cool dry conditions, below 30°C
The sealant should be used within 6 months after opening.
After use, keep the nozzle on the cartridge.
Silicone is a reactive product and is designed to cure once exposed to humidity. While the product may be stored for a few months once opened, it does have a limited shelf life. Storage in an upright position in a cool dry place is recommended to maximise the storage life.
If the sealant is going to be used again within a few days, leave the nozzle on and merely extrude approximately 2 cm of the product before storing the cartridge upright. This will cure to a plug which can easily be pulled out when required.
For longer storage periods, leave the nozzle on and place a piece of plasticene or Blu Tack over the end of the nozzle. Tightly tape a piece of aluminium foil over the whole nozzle to exclude any air.
When you want to re-use the product, simply take off the foil and plug from the old nozzle pull out the excess silicone from the nozzle with a corkscrew, then re-pierce any cure at the tip of the cartridge and re-use.
If cure has taken place into the cartridge, the product is unlikely to be in a useable state and should be discarded.

Application Details
Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, grease and loose material. Remove all old gasket material from mating surfaces before cleaning with a residue-free solvent and allowing drying properly. Cut the nozzle at a 45° angle to the desired bead size (3 mm is suitable for most applications) then apply a continuous and even bead along the joint. Cure Mechanism SikaSeal® Appliance cures by reaction with atmospheric moisture. The reaction thus starts at the surface and proceeds to the core of the joint. The curing speed depends on the relative humidity, temperature and thickness of the sealant. At low temperatures, the water content of the air is lower and the curing reaction proceeds more slowly.
Clean Up Uncured, excess SikaSeal® Appliance may be removed with Sika® Remover-208 or another suitable solvent. Once cured, the excess sealant can be trimmed away from the edges with a knife.
Application Conditions/ Limitations
Restrictions On Use SikaSeal® Appliance is not recommended for use in applications where it will be permanently exposed to temperatures exceeding 250°C or in contact with fuels. The above information is offered for general guidance only.

Excess sealant must be cleaned up before the sealant skins in 5-10 minutes. Wipe excess away with a cloth dampened in mineral turpetine or use a SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes. Remove tape before the sealant skins. Clean tools immediately in mineral turpetine.
Avoid smearing on surrounding surfaces, see a handy tip.
The sealant will cure fully in 72 hours. As this point, any unwanted sealant can be removed by trimming with a sharp blade but avoid undercutting the seal.
Handy tips
Tips for Using a Brick & Concrete Silicone Sealant
Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up.
When first applying product, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of silicone sealant.
Remove the tape before the silicone sealant skins.
For a better finish complete painting prior to use of the sealant as it can not be painted over.
For a better finish, use a spatula dipped in mineral turpentine or detergent and water to tool off the sealant.
Ensure you use a well-ventilated area as product releases methyl ethyl ketoxime while curing.
Keep away from children.
Storage and re-use
Store in cool dry conditions, below 30°C
The sealant should be used within 6 months after opening.
After use keep the nozzle on the cartridge
Silicone is a reactive product and is designed to cure once exposed to humidity. While the product may be stored for a few months once opened, it does have a limited shelf life. Storage in an upright position in a cool dry place is recommended to maximise the storage life.
If the sealant is going to be used again within a few days, leave the nozzle on and merely extrude approximately 2 cm of product before storing the cartridge upright.

FAQS
Why isn’t my bottle of Gorilla Super Glue filled to the top?
For high performance and usability, the adhesive needs to be protected from air. One way to keep the air out of the adhesive is by packaging in thick plastic bottles. If the thicker plastic bottle was completely full of adhesive, it would be too hard to squeeze the glue out of the bottle.
How is Gorilla Super Glue different than Gorilla Glue?
Gorilla Super Glue is a cyanoacrylate adhesive, while Gorilla Glue is a polyurethane. Unlike Gorilla Glue, Gorilla Super Glue does not require extended clamp time or moisture to activate. It does not foam during set up. In addition, Gorilla Super Glue is recommended primarily for indoor applications only and is ideal for smaller repairs that require an instant bond and projects where clamping is not needed.
What does Impact Tough mean?
Gorilla Super Glue is designed with a reinforced formula to handle bumps and drops with a strong, reliable bond.
Will Gorilla Super Glue bond plastic/vinyl/rubber?
Gorilla Super Glue has been engineered to achieve excellent results on difficult to bond substrates. It is formulated to bond a wide range of similar and dissimilar materials including most plastics, metals, elastomers, wood, and porous surfaces. Gorilla Super Glue requires some absorbed moisture on the bonding surfaces to cure. Certain difficult to bond plastics, such as polyethylene and polypropylene, have little to no moisture and will not form good bonds.
How do I remove Gorilla Super Glue from body/skin or separate bonded body/skin?
To remove Gorilla Super Glue from your skin, soak the bonded area in warm, soapy water. Acetone may also be used according to the solvent manufacturer’s instructions (fingernail polish remover works well). The key is to be patient and NEVER pull the area apart. Gently wiggle the bonded area to allow the soapy water or acetone to penetrate the bond. After soaking, the adhesive should come off easily. Keep in mind that acetone can strip your skin of oils, so apply moisturiser after removal.
How do I remove Gorilla Super Glue from my surface?
To remove uncured Gorilla Super Glue, use a towel dampened with acetone or isopropyl alcohol to blot the area. Several applications may be necessary to completely remove the uncured glue. For removal of cured Gorilla Super Glue from the surface of your project, soak bonded area with warm soapy water or acetone. The adhesive should begin to soften, but many applications may be necessary. Keep in mind that isopropyl alcohol and acetone can damage some surface materials, such as countertops and some plastics. Always test in a small, unseen area first.
Is Gorilla Super Glue food safe?
Gorilla Super Glue is not intended for any application with direct or indirect food contact and should not be stored near food or in the refrigerator. Gorilla Super Glue contains no solvents, but has a strong odor. To avoid irritation, use in areas that have adequate air movement and ventilation.
What should I do if I think a human or animal ingested Gorilla Super Glue?
Additional product safety and first aid information can be found here.
How is Gorilla Super Glue Gel different than liguid Gorilla Super Glue?
Gorilla Super Glue Gel is a thicker and more controllable formula than Gorilla Super Glue. It’s great for projects where precision is key.
Why do I need to shake and tap the bottle?
Since Gorilla Super Glue Gel is a thicker formula than a liquid super glue, shaking the bottle pushes the glue to the tip of the bottle. This allows for an easy and controlled dispensing.

Gorilla Tape has taken duct tape to a new level. Gorilla Tape's toughness surpasses ordinary tapes, making the list of uses virtually endless. Made with double thick adhesive, strong reinforced backing, and a tough all-weather shell, it’s the biggest, strongest, toughest thing ever to happen to tape. It sticks to rough and uneven surfaces, including wood, stone, stucco and brick, that ordinary tapes can't hold. To us, it’s made the way tape should be: The Toughest on Planet Earth.
Directions
Use like any other tape. Tear Gorilla Tape by hand or cut to size with a knife or scissors. Apply the tape carefully, smoothing out any pockets or rolls. That’s it. Enjoy the strength and durability of Gorilla Tape!
Does freezing/thawing affect Gorilla Tape?
No, if Gorilla Tape freezes, it will work just fine once it returns to room temperature.
What temperature range does Gorilla Tape require?
Gorilla Tape works best at temperatures above 32°F (0°C). For best results, always apply the tape at room temperature.
How do I store Gorilla Tape?
To retain adhesive quality, store Gorilla Tape in a cool, dry place. Keep out of direct sunlight. Try storing the tape vertically (rather than laying flat), on a hook or on wax paper. If you have multiple rolls, keep your excess supply wrapped until they’re needed.
Can I remove Gorilla Tape?
Gorilla Tape can be removed, but with some difficulty and it may leave some residue. To remove any excess residue, we recommend using the tape itself as a blotter.
How do I use Gorilla Tape?
Surfaces should be clean and dust-free. We recommend rubbing the tape into the surface. This will help achieve a better bond.
Can it be used instead of electrical tape?
Gorilla Tape should not be used as electrical tape.
Will Gorilla Tape work on rough surfaces?
Yes! Gorilla Tape is designed to stick to rough surfaces including wood, stucco, plaster, brick, metal and more. Gorilla Tape is manufactured with a highly concentrated rubber based adhesive – two to three times as thick as traditional duct tape. The result is a tape that fills gaps and penetrates rough surfaces. It is important to clean the surface and brush off any loose particles and dirt before applying Gorilla Tape.
Who should buy Gorilla Tape?
Anyone who wants a quality tape that will last longer and holds stronger.
1. Do-it-yourselfers who know their labour justifies the use of better tools and materials.
2. Professionals who know quality materials affect a business reputation.
3. The “just-give-me-the-best” kind of person – someone with demanding applications or where re-taping is difficult.
Is Gorilla Tape waterproof?
We’ve found that Gorilla Tape will last a lot longer than regular duct tapes when it comes in contact with moisture. Make sure the surface is dry before you apply the tape, and we’re sure you’ll find this out for yourself.
Does Gorilla Tape use Gorilla Glue as the adhesive?
No, they are two different adhesives. Gorilla Glue is a polyurethane glue and the adhesive used on Gorilla Tape has been specially formulated for tape.
What’s the difference between Gorilla Tape and regular duct tape?
We took ordinary duct tape and made it better. We made it twice as thick and we use 2 to 3 times the amount of rubber based adhesive.

How to use this product
General
Avoid contact with skin. Wear safety glasses, impervious gloves and clothing. Surfaces to be bonded should be free of oil, grease and dust. On wet timber pooled water should be wiped off.
1. Cut cartridge tip, fit nozzle and cut end to desired width (approx 5mm diameter).
2. Apply bead along the length of one bonding surface. On broad surfaces apply beads every 40cm. (‘zig-zag’ beads are more appropriate on surfaces of moderate width; eg shiplap panels.)
3. Position pieces and press firmly together. Fix with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold the load and achieve contact over the total bond area. Repositionable for up to 5 mins after fitting.
4. Allow to set for 15-20 mins for porous surfaces before removing temporary fasteners or clamps.*
Liquid Nails Rapid Cure will achieve a full cure in 24 hours.
*Expect longer times for very “dry” timber, heavier objects and less porous surfaces, or in colder weather. Spraying surfaces with a very light mist of water may help speed up the cure.
Handy tips
Gloves should be worn when applying Liquid Nails Rapid Cure. Avoid contact with skin.
Adhesive requires moisture to cure, therefore drying times will vary depending on temperature, humidity and the porosity of materials bonded. Spraying surfaces with a very light mist of water may help speed up the cure.
The product should not be applied below 5°C.
LIQUID NAILS Rapid Cure expands slightly as it cures.

How to use this product
Surfaces to be bonded must be close fitting, free from dust, dry and clean from grease.
Shake bottle before use
Apply adhesive liberally to one surface only, position surfaces and press together while still wet. Immediately clamp for 30 minutes for softwoods and 1 hour for hardwoods. Alternatively, low clamping pressures (50lbs/in2) can be used with softwoods; higher pressures are recommended for hardwoods (100 – 150lbs/in2). Do not stress joint for 12 hours.
Wipe off excess adhesive while still wet with a damp cloth. If the wood is to be stained, any residual Aquadhere left on the timber surface may prevent the stain from taking to the wood.
Maximum strength is achieved after 12 hours, but longer in cold, damp conditions, or when used on dense timbers.
Clean all tools with water before adhesive is allowed to dry. If dry, soak in water until adhesive is soft.
Cure slows significantly in humid, cold conditions.
Handy tips
1L covers approx. 5m2
To fill small gaps, Aquadhere can be mixed with sawdust.
Longer clamping times may be required for joints under high stress, or alternatively use 308 High Stress Wood Glue.
Avoid contaminating Aquadhere Exterior with iron and steel, eg nails, etc. Aquadhere contaminated with rust (iron oxide) will stain brown/black in the presence of tannins in many woods.
Painting or varnishing constructions made of porous softwoods will improve the resistance of bonds to water exposure.
On very porous surfaces applying a thin layer to each side and allowing to soaking in before applying a second layer to one side only may result in a stronger bond.
If you are gluing over a larger surface, try using a small roller to aid in application.
For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using Selleys Liquid Sugar Soap. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with mineral turpentine and then again with methylated spirits. If there is old, difficult to remove residue such as old paint, we recommend using paint stripper such as Selleys Kwik Strip Smart. Ensure the surface is dry before applying the product.
Keep a canister of Selleys Hand Kleen Wipes nearby for a quick and effective cleanup.

Bostik Ultra-Strong Clear Super Glue (Liquid, Odourless, Fast-Setting)
Ultra-Strong Clear Super Glue is a professional-grade, medium-viscosity liquid adhesive designed for quick, reliable repairs on most non-porous materials. It forms an instant high-strength bond that sets in seconds and reaches full cure in 24 hours. The clear, solvent-free formulation is virtually odourless for a cleaner, more comfortable user experience, and its slightly flexible bond helps resist knocks and everyday drops once cured.
Why You’ll Love It
Fast setting: bonds in seconds to get you back to work quickly.
Ultra strong: high strength once fully cured for durable, long-lasting repairs.
Water & heat resistant: engineered to stand up to common household moisture and temperature swings.
Odourless & solvent-free: cleaner application with a safer, low-irritation formula.
Slightly flexible bond: helps absorb minor shocks and everyday handling.
Ideal Materials
Best results on clean, dry, non-porous surfaces including:
China, ceramics and porcelain (non-permanent on items subject to frequent washing)
Rubber and elastomers
Metals and metal components
Jewellery repair (non-food contact)
Many rigid plastics*
*Not suitable for polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) or PTFE (Teflon®). Not recommended for permanently bonding glass, high-alkaline materials, or items that are regularly washed. Avoid paper and other highly porous substrates.
Where It Excels
Quick household fixes (knobs, clips, figurines, trim)
Hobby & craft assembly (non-porous parts)
Workshop touch-ups and small component repair
Office and general repair kits
How It Works
This liquid cyanoacrylate reacts with trace moisture on surfaces to polymerise rapidly, forming a high-strength thermoplastic bond. The medium viscosity helps wet out tight-fitting parts while minimising run-off when applied sparingly.
Before You Start
Surface prep: Ensure both surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, rust, release agents or old adhesive. Lightly abrade glossy plastics/metal where appropriate and wipe clean.
Dry fit first: Check alignment, clamping and support so parts come together quickly and accurately.
Protect work area: Use disposable backing and keep caps, tissues and a small amount of acetone or nail-polish remover handy for cleanup.
Application (Liquid)
Open: For first use, attach/screw the nozzle and remove the cap.
Apply a tiny amount: Place a small drop on one surface only. More glue can slow cure and weaken the joint.
Assemble: Bring parts together immediately and hold with firm, even pressure for ~20 seconds. Avoid movement during initial set.
Let it cure: Handling strength develops quickly; allow 24 hours for full cure and maximum performance.
Clean-Up & Rework
Fresh squeeze-out: Wipe carefully. Small residues may be treated with acetone/nail-polish remover and gently scraped once softened.
On skin: Do not pull apart. Soak in warm, soapy water and gently roll/peel. Use a blunt tool (e.g., spoon handle) to separate bonded skin slowly.
Pro Tips for Best Results
Use the smallest effective drop—thin bondlines are stronger.
Maintain close-fitting joints; gaps reduce cure speed and strength.
Avoid bonding on PE, PP, PTFE and materials with heavy plasticisers or strong alkalinity.
Allow the full 24-hour cure before exposing to stress, moisture or heat.
Storage & Shelf Life
Store tightly closed in a cool, dry place below 25 °C, away from direct sunlight.
Typical shelf life: 12 months from manufacture when stored as directed.
Safety
Cyanoacrylate adhesive: bonds skin and eyes in seconds. Keep out of reach of children.
Wear protective gloves and eye protection.
In eyes: rinse immediately with water and seek medical attention.

FAQs
Can I use it on flexible rubbers? Yes, many rubbers bond well; ensure surfaces are clean and oil-free.
Is it dishwasher-safe? Not recommended for items that are regularly washed, soaked or immersed.
Why shouldn’t I flood the joint? Excess adhesive slows cure and weakens the bond—thin layers perform best.

Supa Glue works best when the surfaces to be bonded are close fitting.
Surfaces to be bonded should be clean, dry and free of dust.
Hold bottle in an upright position. Pierce seal by attaching nozzle and cap and turning clockwise.
Remove cap and squeeze gently to apply a small amount of glue to one surface. Bring surfaces together and apply slight pressure. (30 seconds). The product grabs within 5-30 seconds, depending on environmental conditions and substrates to be bonded.
Allow 30 minutes for sufficient bond strength for practical use. Maximum bond strength reached after 12 hours.
Handy tips
Cyanoacrylate adhesives can create a white residue on the surface of a substrate if the area is not well ventilated.
Clean the affected area with acetone to remove residue.
For best performance from this product after opening, store in the refrigerator or in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Excellent when used with other adhesives, as the temporary tack
For best results, ensure surfaces to be bonded are clean, free of dust, dry and close fitting
In the event that fingers get stuck together – don’t panic! Slowly twist fingers in opposite direction in hot soapy water.
Acetone (nail polish remover) or Olive oil can also be used to remove Quick Fix from skin.
While superglue is not recommended for use on some plastics, if your kids have broken their favourite toy, try this method: Line up the two pieces, glue it, leave it for 24hours to dry, then drop more glue on the break area like a ‘collar’/protective layer.
Since Quick Fix cures with moisture set times may be extended on very dry surfaces or under dry conditions.
Super glues cure more slowly when large amounts are used. For faster cure use sparingly.
Safety tips
Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Avoid breathing vapour.
Quick Fix is non-hazardous once cured. Where Quick Fix residues are on the skin, it is recommended that the skin be soaked in warm to hot water to allow easy removal. It is not advisable to try to remove the cured adhesive by pulling and scraping the skin as this will only serve to damage the skin. Alternatively rub in hand cream or vegetable oil to accelerate the natural process of the skin sloughing off to remove the residue. Where immediate adhesive removal is considered necessary apply a solvent such as acetone (nail polish remover) then wash off with soapy water. Apply hand cream to replace naturals oils in skin.
Do not use solvents near eyes or open wounds.
In case of contact with eyes, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
Non toxic when set.
Storage and re-use
After use, wipe excess product from nozzle with a tissue dipped in acetone (found in some nail polish removers). Reseal cap in a clockwise direction. Tap bottle lightly on a flat surface to clear excess product from nozzle.
To remove excess from substrates, it is recommended that the material be soaked in a solution of acetone and water (i.e. 3 parts acetone to 1 part water). Where soaking is not possible, try placing a piece of absorbant material (eg cotton wool) soaked in acetone on the excess for 5 to 10 minutes, topping up the acetone if it evaporates. Gently rub the surface with the material to remove the residues. TEST THE SURFACE IN AN INCONSPICUOUS SPOT to ensure it is unaffected by acetone before attempting removal using thias method.
Ensure cap is replaced and store in a cool dry place. Cyanoacrylate based adhesives polymerise in the presence of moisture.
Store Upright.
For best performance from this product after opening, store in the refrigerator or in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Many other building surfaces
How to use this product
Ensure the surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry and free from dust, grease, oil and loose powdery materials. If porous surfaces are greasy or dirty, we would recommend cleaning the surface with SELLEYS LIQUID SUGAR SOAP, and allow to dry. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with Mineral Turpetine and then again with Methylated Spirits, and allow to dry. If there is old difficult to remove residue such as old flaky paint, we recommend using paint stripper such as SELLEYS KWIK STRIP SMART, and allow to dry. On wet timber pooled water should be wiped off. Highly oily timber types may need to be wiped with solvent prior to application to remove surface oils.
We also recommend sanding the surface back with a good quality sanding block, such as a ROTA COTA Sanding Block Medium/ Course grain, as the construction adhesive will adhere more readily to a scratched up surface.
Cut the seal at the top of the cartridge. Cut the nozzle end to desired opening (approx. 5mm diameter). Fit to the top of the cartridge.
Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking gun. We recommend SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking Gun, as its new innovative pressure release design reduces the mess which results from run on and stress on your hands, which is critical if you are doing a lot of work which requires a caulking gun.
Apply a bead of product along the length of the joist, stud or batten. On broad flat surfaces apply beads every 40cm.
Fix the surfaces with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold load and achieve contact over the total bond area. The product is repositionable for up to 20 minutes after fitting.
Allow the adhesive to set (at least 24 hours) before removing any temporary fasteners or clamping.
For faster grab, apply to one surface only, press together and pull apart. Allow surfaces to dry 2-5 minutes before firmly joining.
The time it takes to form a strong bond depends on the nature and conditions of the application. In most situations strong bonds can be achieved after 24 hours and will continue to strengthen over a 2-3 day period. The product will fully cure up to 7 days.
When the product is still wet it can be removed with mineral turpetine, otherwise if the product is dry it can be removed by sanding or scraping, we recommend using a 50mm ROTA COTA Soft Grip Scraper. Clean any excess from your hands with SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes.
To eliminate squeaks in tongue and groove flooring, apply a bead of Liquid nails into the groove or each board when installing.
Handy tips
When applying to one surface, ensure sufficient LIQUID NAILS Original is used so that some adhesive extrudes out when surfaces are brought together then wipe off excess if necessary. If glue is not visible, then insufficient contact may not have been made between the surfaces and a weak joint may result.
LIQUID NAILS Original should always be used in conjunction with mechanical fasteners in structural, critical or high stress applications.
LIQUID NAILS Original is sometimes called LIQUID NAILS (SOLVENT) to differentiate it from the other Liquid Nails products.
LIQUID NAILS Original shrinks slightly on curing.
Cured LIQUID NAILS Original residues can be removed by holding a rag soaked in Mineral Turps against the residue, then rubbing the residue once softened. Mineral Turps penetrates in this way at approximately 1 mm per hour.
When Liquid Nails Original joints are directly exposed to the weather, it is recommended to seal around the edges with a silicone sealant to prevent water ponding inside the joint and thus weaken the joint.
LIQUID NAILS Original is NOT recommended for use on mirrors or polystyrene. Use LIQUID NAILS MIRROR METAL GLASS for mirrors and LIQUID NAILS FAST for polystyrene.
Keep a pack of SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes handy to wipe up any spills and for cleaning any material off the skin before it cures. They are an easy and effective way to keep clean on the job.
